s b del llano, author, poet and educator

s b del llano was raised among indigenous peoples and multicultural communities in the mountains, foothills, and jungles of Colombia, South America. He moved to the United States at 17 to pursue his education, earning a B.A. degree in literature in Chicago, a Master of Liberal Arts at Southern Methodist University, and a PhD in Humanities and Writing at the University of Texas at Dallas. 

A writer, poet, and educator, del llano’s fiction, poetry, and non-fiction appear in The New Guard, Sojourn, Hindsight Journal, and Reunion: The Dallas Review.

 

In June 2026, his published collection of short stories, Once Wild, will be available through High Frequency Press. In 2027, his forthcoming novel Song of Managraça will be published. The story is set near his second home in the forested dunes of the Indian Ocean in Mozambique where he spends summers writing, reveling in nature, and contributing to the local community. He lives in New York City and Dallas.
